depends on your budget. but an eaiser swap would prolly be another D-series or you can go b series without much modification just some wiriing.

Ok say I wanted to put in a D15B vtec OBD1, would I have to do much modification? Would it bolt right up? Would stock Tranny bolt up? Or would you suggest another engine, price range $750-1500?

well it also depends on if your car is dpfi or mpfi because if its dpfi your gonna have to do wiring plus for the d15 vtec you also gotta wire the vtec. for that budget i think i would go with a d series swap. but if you wanted to go turbo in the future you can get a ls now and put together a turbo and make up to 300whp without doing internals on the LS. are you gonna be the one to do all the labor? ohh yea any d series tranny will work with all d series engines

Just take care of your turb d15b2 until you get the money to buy a REAL motor, like b18 or b16, whateva.
