Default d17a2 swap questions

I have a 96 4dr.civic. how hard would it be to drop in a d17a2. Is the d17a2 VTEC-E, or just VTEC? Is VTEC-E not as powerful as VTEC. I want to stay with sohc. And i just recently got my hands on a d17a2 out of a 03 civic that was totaled, i got the whole motor for $500. Would like to know if there is any significance to installing this engine. it has very low mileage. And last but not least would a d16y7 tranny bolt up to a d17a2 engine. hard to find much research and information on the d17a2. much appreciated!

isnt that the same motor anyway, im not too sure if this motor was out of either a 03. or 04 civic. i thought that they were the same engine anyway. right?

they can't be swapped in. they don't fit.

it says D on it, but that's the only thing that it has in common.

Drop the crank/rods/pistons/oil pump into a z6 or y8 block and have fun
