Anyone running the rear Fastbrakes single piston wilwood kit?
I'm thinking about getting this kit instead of paying 200+shipping for the trailing arms which I would have to rebuild in the first place. Add that all up and it would be about the price of this kit (550). The only problem is that it does away with the parking brake cables. I do drag the car, so I was thinking about installing a line lock in it's place. So anyone with the kit? how do you like it?
Thanks!

Well I can't be much help since I haven't actually used these brakes, but would you be able to use the line lock on a daily basis when you park?
Subscribing, since I'm curious to see the info that follows.
I have the rear 11" kit that uses OEM calipers in order to retain the parking brake, but if there is a way of having a "parking brake" by using a line lock I'd be interested to know.
What is a line lock though?

A line lock is simply a high pressure solenoid that when you press the button, will hold the brake pressure in the lines. Basiclly you do this:
- press brake pedal
- press and hold line lock switch
- let off brakes
- now just the rear (or front) brakes are locked

from info from companies that make the line locks, they say DO NOT use in place of a parking brake.
they will come slap you in the face if you do!

Yeah, now that I know what a line lock is, it's apparent that it isn't a replacement for the standard parking brake. That's why I'm using that Fastbrakes kit that uses an OEM caliper in the rear.
I wish there was a viable alternative that would allow me to use the lighter single piston Wilwood caliper in the rear, rather tham the heavy OEM pistons & still have a parking brake.

lol. I never said I would be using it to replace the parking brake. Just for the burn out, and launching at the strip.

I would just get the normal kit, but it's 900 bucks. I'm not really sure why you have to pay the extra 350 just for stock calipers? But at any rate, it would be cheaper for me just to go with the wilwood kit + the line lock.

you could put in a cutting brake for the rear with a valve. Basically you pull the cutting brake and turn the valve to lock the pressure in the line effectively giving you a parking brake.

No they use them on drag cars when they do burnouts, and launch.

they do sell hydraulic ebrake kits I have seen a bunch before, like a bolt on kit replaces your ebrake handle and has a small master underneath.
also I dont see how it could possibly add up to that price, at the salvage yard maybe $100-$150 for the trailing arm set., new TA bushings from honda $50 , pads $15, rotors $30, caliper rebuild kits $30. you are looking at under $300 instead of $500+ and no working e brake

No. I would not give up my e-brake to go with this kit. I would not go with a kit like this unless it was a race-only car. You can't beat factory reliability, and with all of the factory Honda/Acura parts that can be interchanged with the EF chassis, I see it as just trying to add "Bling". I would try and find a DA disk set-up locally. Also, on the line-lock for the parking brake note, Most (If not all) line-locks require the solenoid to be energized to keep them locked, meaning that they are drawing electrical current while locked, not good for a car that you are leaving unattended, as when the battery runs out, you have no parking brake. Not to mention possible fluid leak through the valve letting the brakes off gradually.

i know a guy who can do an awesome special mod that will keep your ebrake and also if you wanted to he can make it a 5x114.3 as well. he is in the process of making me one. its a bigger oem caliper and rotor as well. he can use oem parts or upgraded parts if you wish. but his price isnt cheap. but again no one else can do it too.
