its time to smog my car so now i have to have it bar'd. what will happen if i go in with no paperwork? i tried searching for an hour but found nothing useful

 

you might just be SOL. You will have to get some form of paperwork to prove you bought the motor or else your swap will not be considered legit and considered stolen.

 

Knockout nailed it right on the head. They ref will run the block number and verify that the paperwork you have in hand matches the history of said block.

Without the paperwork, you will not pass the inspection to get your BAR sticker.

how do they run the block number? i thought they can only run vins and theres no vin on it because its a 94

 

i never had any paper work for my motor, they just refed it and all was fine..
