Default Transmission from WD-R

A few months back I ordered a hybrid transmission (EX 1-2, ZC 3, DX 3 for 4, EX 5, EX FD) from member Aquafina. Well, last week I received it and threw it in my car. I was stunned to say the least about the appearance of the tranny and the performance gain. I highly reccomend doing business with Aquafina. He is a very knowledgable person and will answer every question you have. I'm a reg on hondaforums and when I swapped my Y5 trans and posted about it, 3 people Aim'd me about a transmission from him, I know one for sure is going to buy one and the other two are fairly certain about purchasing one. Aquafina looks out for his customers. If one thing doesn't look right with what he's building he will start over. I know with mine he ran into a problem with the shifting assembly and had to buy a whole new case. He didn't charge me a penny. It's obvious that he wants the best for his customers. The transmission was definately worth the money and the wait. I give Whoopee Doo Racing Please do business with Aquafina... It is well worth it.

How much did you pay for it shipped if you don't mind me asking?

I think the final price was ~$900 (includes new core trans, labor, etc.) plus another 170 for the Fidanza flywheel

Those are his top speeds in each gear if he had 205/50/15's.

The 3-4 shift is fun. I used the same setup in my DX trans with 4.71 FD.

I would spect shorter gears (good for acceleration) for a custom tranny

Wanna know my stock d15b7 lx tranny gears?

With the exception of 5th, this is the shortest D setup you can have before going to aftermarket gears.

Here is a comparison ot his trans versus a 92-95 LX trans with the same shift point and tire size. Red is the hybrid.

I doubt it. Bense made a custom oem parts tranny. He even posted up a vid of it. Those ratios are craaazy short. I'll try to find the vid somewhere. I believe he was cruising at 80 mph at something outrageous like 5k rpms...

lol, this IS the shortest combo you can get with OEM gears (unless you use the 4.4xx FD).

1st = 3.25
2nd = 1.9
3rd = 1.346
4th = 1.172
5th = 0.702
fnl = 4.250

1st -> 2nd = 0.584615385
2nd -> 3rd = 0.708421053
3rd -> 4th = 0.870728083
4th -> 5th = 0.598976109

lol aquafina, he could technically use a 1.259 3rd gear but that would be stupidly retarded.

or how about a 1.259 3rd gear and a 1.250 4th gear. ABSOLUTE closest oem gearing right there. Rev to 7200, rpms fall to 7148

i'm currently building the absolute longest oem tranny. i'm gonna modify the cable components to make them fit in a hydro case so that i can use this gem in my EG! thank you honda for making the HF Although my bicycle is faster, the HF still manages to get better gas mileage!

1st = 3.25
2nd = 1.65
3rd = 0.853
4th = 0.823
5th = 0.694
final = 2.95

gears end at following mph w/ 7400 and 225/50/15s
55
108
209
216
257

1st -> 2nd = 0.507692308
2nd -> 3rd = 0.516969697
3rd -> 4th = 0.964830012
4th -> 5th = 0.843256379

now don't you go complaining to me about how my longest geared tranny has close ratio 3-4-5

Do either of you work on K-series transmissions? I'd love to get a 6speed k20a tranny with a longer gearset.

it's pretty much the same thing. if you can work on a D trans you should be able to work on a K trans. Although i've never touched a b,k,h, or f trans. i've seen pictures, they're all pretty much the same.

I've played with the math on some K-series stuff. if you want longer gears, you can use a 5/6 speed final and i'm 90% sure that you can use a tsx 6speed 6th as your 5th if it's a 5speed. And of course if it's a 6 speed you can use it as 6th gear.

I'd just love to see a 6spd longbox for a K-series. That'd make my day.

Okay let's talk about cust. service... I broke the mainshaft seal when I put the trans in...... Aquafina is coming to my house this weekend to fix it... He looks out for his people. If it's the shortest gearset or not, it's perfect for me... It is exactly what I wanted.

All trans are about the same. D is the most tedious to work on though IMO.
