Default 95' Civic CX timing belt question.

I have aquired a 95 Civic Hatch with the D15B8 motor. Anyways it has a blown head gasket. The person I got it from started to take down the motor and took the timing belt off withotu putting the motor at TDC.

My Question is how to I set the timing now that the motor is off. I assume you have to use the hash marks on the cam and crank pullies but im not sure what they mean.

And one other thing, How to those metal clips come off the injectors? I tried to get them off but i didnt want to break it.

well if the head gasket is blow just remove the head put the #1 piston at tdc line up the marks on the crank pulley with the ones on the block. with the head off the car spin the cam shaft until the timing marks line up on the head, #1 cylinder valves should be closed. looking at the car from the front #1 cylinder is on the drivers side. Replace the head gasket, timing belt, and water pump while you have everything torn apart good luck

Thanks, I'm not replacing the water pump because this will be an 'enduro' car and we will be racing it... I dont really want to sink that much cash in it.

I under stand not wanting to spend the extra cash however its only around $30 for the replacement pump. It might just be worth the extra cash not to have to rip it apart later on.
