WTF window lock problem.
I duno if anyone else noticed this, but when you turn on window lock, the driver cant roll down any windows? Every car i have ever been in, window lock just disables any other doors controls of windows.... This isnt just my car is it?

Yes, I am lying, and I am an idiot. I hear it is a good way to make friends.
I have a 2006 Si.
Here are my steps:
1. Window lock is up, with orange showing near the bottom of the button to indicate this.
2. Roll both windows down and up.
3. Press window lock button down.
4. Push both window buttons down and only the drivers side works.
That's it, and if necessary I will make a video with my digital camera to prove it.

Even if that works, its kinda moronic to have to do that ritual just for it to work.... you cant do that when your child is attempting to crawl out a window at 60mph

Demonis: The steps dcmix5 outlined is exactly what the window lock does, and has been doing for years; and that is, once the button is pressed down, the passenger side window is disabled (until the button is released to resume normal function), but the drivers side window still remains fully functional.
Pressing a single button down to lock the passenger window is hardly moronic. Actually, it's effective, simple, yet so complicated. The real issue here is, a child roaming around the car "attempting to crawl out a window at 60mph".
Also, you may or may not be aware, but... Most, if not all of us here on Honda-Tech are here to learn, assist, and if necessary, lend a helping hand. With that said, responses tend to be elicited in the manner they are presented. Please try to refrain from responses like the one towards dcmix5.

Weird, my driver side still rolls down too with the window lock activated. I doubt it's because it's a DX cuz the guy above me with the Si is the same, i would assume the window lock mechanism/relay is a mass produced part used on all models of current Civics.
If the window is up like it should be with a child in the seat, then the window will be locked up. Without you having to worry about rolling it up. On the other hand if you lock the windows when the window is down with a child in the back, it defeats the purpose of the window lock feature.
Okay, first of all, by 'moronic' i wasnt referring to HIM, i was referring to the "roll both windows down, then up, then use the window lock and the drivers window will roll down." process.
Secondly, I used the kid falling out the window as an example, because this has happened in the past, THUS window locks were born.
Lastly, mine were up... pushed the window lock, and niether window would work....
Better?

Sedan(all trims)
Window lock - it locks all windows, aside from driver's side, to keep them from rolling up or down even on the master control which is located on the driver's side door panel.
Coupes and Si:
Window Lock - same as above but with the difference it locks the passanger side since it has only 2 doors. It does NOT lock the driver's side on any trim...
Overall, With window lock on, driver's window will work regardless. Passanger(s) window(s) will not work.
If yours works different than mentioned above, take it to your dealership and have it(them) fixed. And stop bitching each other out

No, I don't think so.
If you read what I posted, you can clearly see that I understand that your window lock will lock your driver's side window.
I posted that it DOESN'T lock mine. My driver's side window works at all times, with the window lock on or off, as intended.

You don't need a "ritual" to lock the windows, so I think you are misundertanding what I did there. I was attempting to illustrate the process in order to prove that my window lock did not affect my driver's window.
All you need to do is press the window lock button, and that is it. One press, and my passenger window is locked. Period.
