Default help with b16a2

i just swapped a b16a2 with ctr pistons in my hb and it starts up fine but backfires after 15 minutes. not only that, my response is really slow, meaning i gun the car and the car does not pick up at all. its really slow (you can run and beat me) does any one have an idea what can be wrong? i searched but could come up with a conclusion.

dudde if your car is not running right, you are not sippose to full throttle it. check the tps sensor.

Check to see if you're throwing any codes and make sure all your sensors are plugged in correctly. Is your VTEC engaging? Check ignition timing and TPS sensor.

vtec engages but still no pull. the only sensor not plugged in is the crank pulley sensor, but i'm using a 97 civic ex harness but have a pigtail and am now using a chipped p28 and theres no code. i dont have a obd2 ecu to run with. the sanner wont pick up the chipped ecu. (gynesis scanner)
