Default HELP! oil pressure sensor and bad idle

Actually I doubt this has anything to do with my fluctuating idle, but I was searching for vaccuum leaks and I found that I was missing the plug that goes to this. (oil pressure sensor?)

view from the back of the motor (obviously)

The wire is cut or stripped, missing the plug (you know, the one with the black rubber boot over it). Where can I get another one of these?

You can find it from a trash harness that has been cut up or something. You can't buy it from the dealership.

Technically all I need to do is make a secure metal-to-metal connection with that right? So couldn't I fab something from an autoparts store, or i was thinking about using an audio connector. Stupid idea?

...or WTB: one of those

The plug is just one wire and is only used for a dummy light. If you wanted to get an accurate reading of the oil pressure just forget about the sensor, and hook up an oil pressure gauge straight to the back of the block. But then I guess you would get "the light."

I think he's concerned that the light will come on, not on actual reading right now. I would try to find one at the junk yard or make a makeshift plug.

well what i was actually concerned about is whether missing this plug would affect the car's peformance in any way. Cause, right now it runs like crap and I'm trying to find a solution.
