i was driving my car the other night and it started making a knocking sound well it sounded like it was coming from the trans. side so i pulled off the trans and the throwout bearing was in 4 pieces and the pilot bearing was in 2 pieces....and i have a fidanza flywheel....for some reason there is marks all over the block side like it has been hitting...and when i first put in the flywheel my friend told me that my pilot bearing was in right but before i took off the flywheel you could move the pilot bearing back and forth like it wasnt pressed into the flywheel.....does anyone know what could cause the flywheel to hit the block and if the pilot bearing wasnt pressed into the flywheel could that cause some damage?
