Default D-series tranny leaking by the engine block...

hey guys I have a bit of a dilemma with my friends car.
She just bought a 95 civic si coupe a few weeks ago with the factory d16z6.

The car runs fine but she has noticed it's leaking 'oil'
so I changed the oil a few days ago and though the oil drain bolt wasn't tight, so I tightened it and cleaned up where the oil pan/bolt an transmission are of all the grime and dirt.

I had her go take the car for a ride and when she came back, I noticed some fluid(looks like transmission fluid) coming out from the flywheel/transmission area, where that flywheel cover is.

I did check the axle seals and it doesn't seem those are leaking but could it be a seal within the transmission?

Input shaft seal on the tranny, or the main seal on the crank.

Check both axle seals right where the axle goes into the tranny. I had a leak and drove it like that for two months. It got my shift linkage and passenger underbody all covered in tranny fluid. Fixed it yesterday by replacing the seals and hasn't shown any leaks.

Before you try both ^^^ do this: in a lot of cars, the distribuitor seal leaks, therefore leaking down thru/around the bell housing and dripping from the bottom of the bellhousing/engine.

Check under the dizzy (remove it maybe?) for oil

checked there...nothing

dam, means I'll have to probably pull the tranny next weekend and I'll just put in all new seals for the shift linkage/axle and crank seal

thanks guys

my fill bolt was leaking cause i reused the gasket, when i put in new syn fluid i used a new gasket no more leaks. I thought it was the oil pan gasket around that area, but it was the fill plug for me. For some reason the oil likes to creep up and all over the place. made it hard to pinpoint where it was coming from
