Default ATTN: Metallurgists

Ok, so Im trying to determine what the most inexpensive grade of aluminum for the project I'm doing.

I will be redesigning the shifting cam in a GSXR 600 gearbox to shift directly from 1st to 2nd while skipping neutral. The only loads that the cam sees are sliding the dogs back and forth in the gearbox and the racheting mechanism from the foot shifter. I was thinking something like a 2024 t3 might work, but what do you guys think?
