i got the basic bolt-on parts on my car. except the headers.....i was thinking of putting a turbo on my car....i have a AT.....i keep hearing of the lude trannys as ticking time bombs...i have had no problems with mine and im at a little over 100k....will it be safe putting a turbo on the car? without blowing the tranny?

its the turbonetics one....its gives 8psi's

My neighbor had one, at 10psi. Ran fine, pulled strong. He dynod 330whp. He sold it to get a more professional car.

 

It's up to u, I've never done it, but I hear from lots of people that the trannies brake down really fast, I had mine brake down just from driving it hard, the differential went out on me and it wasn't boosted at all, only 80,000 miles, then again u could get lucky and be fine for a long time, I'd just say get more oppinions and search b4 u decide, whatever u do good luck.

 

boosting a 'lude with over 100k miles isn't a good idea in the first place unless you're going to rebuil the motor...

It really depends on the shape of the engine. I've done a car with 100k+ miles and didn't run into any problems.
