speed shifting?
does anybody do this wheever im driving i often dont use the clutch only when im in first and the rest of the gears i can just eas them in in the right manner is this good or bad for ur transmmision i rarely grind the gears when doing this
so your logic is Extended clutch life which = saving 150 for a new clutch

Please sell your car and get a mountain bike. That way you dont have to push any clutches and you can throw it through the gears. The clutch in a manual transmission car is there for a reason. If youre too damn lazy to use it, gtfo and buy and auto!

y are all u guys talking **** i grind my gear probly once in along while and its not that i dont want to use the clutch its just i can shift in a more calm manner my dad taught me this and it has do to do with the timming of the transmmision where as u dont need the clutch if any of u ***** want to try it get out of first and at about 2200 t0 2500 drop ur gear into second not fast like ur racing but normal and it will slip in with no problem and u will feel ur shifter actually slide out of gear just as if u were using ur clutch and go into gear
Shifting like that is extremely hard on your synchros. Basically what you are doing is trying to match the input shaft speed (engine rpm) with the output shaft speed (vehicle speed) at precisely the correct time so that the gears will mesh together. It's pretty much impossible to get it exactly right, so your synchros basically have to work against the torque from your engine and/or the forward momentum of your car to make up for the difference in rotational speeds of the shafts. It doesn't take a genius to realize it's gonna be hell for your synchros. Use the clutch, that's why it's there.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention. Even if you don't grind the gears, it's still super hard on the synchros. It only grinds when the synchros can't handle the extra load in time to make the shift. When you hear that grind noise, that's the sound of the teeth on the synchro sleeve and the teeth on the gears grinding eachother down. Do that too many times and you won't be able to shift at all.

If you rev match the trans while it's in neutral (between the gears) it works fine, I've done it, but it unless you've got a broken left foot and you slip the hell out of the clutch, you're not saving anything at all. Ask the factory clutch on my old CRX which went 196k miles of normal driving and never slipped.
If you're racing, well, double clutching into neutral and rev matching can be a lot faster if you practice.
Shifting without the clutch? No reason at all with modern vehicles.

ok I do it at least once when I drive. Come guys you are freaking out for nothing... its not rocket science what he is doing. He is just shifting with out the clutch. And yes I know we got a clutch in the car but doesn't mean you have to use all the time. I usually do this when I rev match to a lower gear and in 4 years of driving I have never grinded.

lol I saw someone do this one time on an old honda civic wagon and it was very amusing. I think there was a reason all major car companies today use a clutch with a conventional manual transmission. I think it has something to do with the transmission being a little bit more expensive than a clutch.
