Default vtec controller

i recently swapped my b20 vtec into my eg civic. i';ve had it like two months and i just friend a piston ring (makes me sad) but its mostly because i run untunned. so, my engine swap guy said that i need to tune the car when i get it back. so i need a vtec controller. anyone have any ideas on this?

i checked ebay but they seem pricey. i not too sure which controller to go with. anyone wanna sell theirs? lol.

Go with either the trusty Apexi Vtec2 controller or the Hondata s300 (I think it's called that). I use the Apexi and love it, but will not get rid of it I have no reason to. Either of these are great bc most tuners know how to work on both of them.

If you can afford it, go with Hondata and have someone tune it for you with a wideband O2. The Apex'i VAFC2 is cheap in comparison, but you can also easily destroy your engine if you don't know what you're doing. The best way to tune with one of those is also with a wideband O2. It is very limited in comparison with a Hondata system though. Also, you could always get your OBD1 ECU chipped and tune with Uberdata or crome, but again, unless you know what you're doing, you can really mess things up.

Get a chipped ecu and use crome. Its a free program. You will be good to go.

Koulaid: You can get a VAFC2 used for cheap now, cause Apex'i is releasing the version 3 soon (if it's not already out). I got my VAFC2 for $260 CAN, but I've seen them go for a little less than that lately now too.
