Octane in the US with a jdm motor/ecu...does running 91+ improve anything?
I know that if a motor is not detonating, higher octanes are not required. But, 100 RON in japan is more or less 95/96 PON here (or was it MON).
So, if you're running the jdm ecu, which was worked around 100 RON, and you're running lower octane 91 gas (in california at least), will there be be a discernable loss in performance?
I'm sure it's nothing terribly significant, but has anyone tested this out?

with a high compression engine, you want to be running 93 if possible. especially on a map that was written for 100. i wouldnt be worried about performance, i'd be worried about detonation when running lower octane.

100 RON......not octane.
100 RON......not octane.
