Default 100 octane

whats up guys, running a JDM H22a wit a JDM ecu. was wonderin if using 100 octane would help n the performance n would it do any damage. i heard that runnin that high of an octane would eat up the cat but also heard that thats what they be using over n Japan so it would help performance wise. let me kno....

thats to high a octane for a stock compression motor. You would only need that high a octane if you had like 13:1 compression or so.

higher octane will only allow your fuel to burn at higher temps. FI and high comp guys use higher rating octane to help prevent detonation (explosion of fuel due to it being compressed). on a stock motor its not gonna help out at all

In Japan they have a different rating of octane/gasoline, same with Europe. I'm talking bout ROM, etc..

what up cuzo. i ran 100 octane n the car n i did notice a difference in performance. it ran smoother n pulled a lil harder. it even started right up when i had it in the tank. i usually run the shell vpower(93) but i went 2 tha track so i put n bout half a tank of the 100.

as said, the Japs use 100 RON fuel

Over here, our standard unleaded is 95 RON and jap engines run pretty crap on that to be honest. definitely notice performance difference when I use 99 or 100 RON premium fuel.

Also fuel economy is muchhh better on 100 RON. £ to mile 95 and 100 RON work out about the same, only with better/smoother performance with 100 RON.

I sure wouldnt like to run my engine on your american 91 RON.
