Default Fuel pump prime

Hi everyone. I have a swapped out stock pump for a EVO pump. Lately I have been experiencing a problem with my fuel pump priming. It used to prime really loud just before I crank the car. Now I can hardly even hear it priming but the car does crank over. Occasionally on the 2nd crank. Is there a problem with my pump? Will a dirty fuel filter cause this? What about poor grounding connections relating to the pump? Will an old battery cause this? My battery is about 2.5 years old.

I doubt the Fuel Pump is Bad... it is most likely something with your battery or Ground...

Which are the critical grounding points relating to the pump?
