I would break it in for atleast a 1000 miles that's what i am doing when i pick up my si up this week. I think vtec kick's in around 6200rpm but i could be wrong.

Hey noob, if you read, he said that civics don't have v-tech. No civic has v-tech. V-tech is a phone. Now vtec, o yea we have that **** and it kicks in at 5800 rpms. You WILL know when it kicks in.

To the OP, you should have went ***** to the wall once you left the dealership. These engines supposedly came broken in from the factory. I redlined mine leaving the dealership and it is running fine right now. I ran a 14.8 stock last weekend at the track, so I don't think anything is broken and I always drive my car like it was meant to be driven. I-vtec, is it in you?

Yeah my dealer told me the same thing. They are already broken in. He said something about something being highly polished. To be honest I stopped listening after he said I didn't have to break it in.

there has been 3247092347 topics about this before, shoulda searched before you posted, but they say to not keep the car at the same RPM to take it to high and low to break in the rings and whatnot

Just take it easy on the clutch for the first 500 miles, then you're fine
