Default Warped head and symptoms to look for

I have had this cooling problem for a while and put it down to the thermostat, cooling fan has almost given up kickin in. I only drive my Civic 30 miles a day on side roads and have just lived with topping up with coolant every other day. How can I tell if a warped head is the problem and is it worth fixing. The cooling system was pressure tested at the dealership and was OK on that.
My Civic is a 95 EX Coupe with 223K on it and runs and sounds great for all those miles on it. A guy at work said he could check it out, do a few tests, should I take him up on the offer?. All stock motor by the way.
if it aint ej1 it's Crraaap
Thanks in advance for any advice from everyone on H-T and I did search first.

A warped head is usually caused by driving the car while it is overheated for a long time.Pressure testing the cooling system usually determines if there's any coolant leaks. A little more info would help about your cooling problem. If you do get it inspected, and the estimate comes out to more then $500, I think it's time for a K20 But if it's just your daily driver i'm sure there's a bunch of people on this board with a fresh single cam motor sitting in their garage.
