Default PROBLEM WITH A/C IN A 92 CIVIC

FIRST EXCUSE THE CAPS (KEYBOARD CAPS IS BROKEN). I HAVE A 1992 HONDA CIVIC LX EG8. A COUPLE DAYS AGO I HAD CHANGED A COUPLE OF FUSES BECAUSE SOME WERE BURNED OUT (USE FUSE TESTER). AFTER DOIN THIS IS RESULTED THAT MY CAR A/C IS ACTING WEIRD.[WHEN I BOUGHT MY CAR THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR BECAUSE IT WONT BLOW COLD AIR]. WEL STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. MY A/C NOW SHORTS AND CUTS MY CAR OFF ONCE I GO PAST THE FIRST SETTING 1. [2 3 4 WILL TURN OFF MY CAR AND MAKE WEIRD SOUND SOMEWHAT OF THE STARTER GRINDING WHEN YOU TRY TO TURN ON YOUR CAR WHILE ITS RUNNING]. I TRIED TO SEE IF IT WAS MY IDLE BUT IT ISNT. AND THE FUNNY THING IS WHEN MY CAR IS OFF I CAN GO ALL THE WAY TO 4 WITH NO PROBLEMS. MY QUESTION IS ==== WHATS CAUSING MY CAR TO SHUT OFF ONCE I ENGAGE THE A/C TO A HIGHER SETTING.

{ALSO HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED A NEW COMPRESSOR. FROM WHAAT I VE HEARD I JUST NEED A RECHARGER BECAUSE IF THE A/C DIDNT WORK IT WOULDNT BLOW BUT MY A/C BLOWS WHEN I IGNITE THE A/C JUS HOT *** AIR...SO WHAT CAN I DO BOUT CHECKING WHY MY AC WONT SHOOT COLD AIR OUT. ]{

ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED THANK YOU.
AJ

They might not be helping you because of the CAPS.

Just trace the wires from your A/C switch and see where they go.

that's where I would start.

But it sounds like a very wierd prob.

Could be the compressor shorting out or drawing too many amps. Usually it would just blow a fuse but seeing as you have had some wiring issues I wouldn't be surprised if someone hadn't hardwired it in the past.

Pretty pathetic you took the time to go to his profile and cut and paste into a new post just to try and be a hardass. Now who is the one acting like a kid now? Crybaby, you don't like caps then move on.
