Default black smoke

my stock gsr engine has black smoke coming out when i hit the vtec and high RPM......anyone knows whats going on.......my friend told me to go dyno and tune it ....... is it waste money to do that?

yea definitly tune it........it makes a differnce.........with the black smoke, you hittin vtec its burning oil, theres gonna be smoke coming out..........you might be running rich, your bottem end might have gone, your pistin rings are fried........theres a couple of things

u dont need to get it tuned right away i mean tuning it may help you out, but theres also other things like have u changed your oil recently, if not change it and see how that does, your cat may be all hallowed out, is it stock exhaust or what u got.........i mean if u tune it, get it tuned right with launch control and **** like that

how many miles are on your car (motor)? did you change to a diffrent type of oil?

Any check engine light? Could be a bad o2 sensor.

now i only got apexi exshust and intake for my stock GSR.........and also Dyno told me to get tthe obd1 ecu to tune it........should i set my vtec cliicks in in 4000rpm?? and also do u think my car will be more smooth and faster after i fix the black smoke power and tune it up??? thanks for answering me!!!

theres no engine light on......do u think is the piston problem??is it too old to make this happen??

for intake and exhaust you dont need a tune. try adding some more bolt ons like cams, header, and intake manifold for starters then tune it

burning oil is usually whitish/grey color. Black is usually fuel. And n00b guy you have no clue what your talking about..

Naw if you are sure the smoke is black then it wouldnt be piston blow-by. That would cause blue smoke.

Are you burning any oil?

yea i m sure that is black smoke and my engine oil are burnning so fast
specially when i clicks in vtec or high rpm

How much oil does it go through? You should do a compression and leakdown test. Oil burning would cause smoke as well (though it would be blue, not black).
