Default Broken Crank Pulley Bolt.. Any ideas?

I was driving today and i heard a loud CLANK ..pulled over and noticed the pully for my power steering and alternator had came completely off!! .. i jacked it up hoping to just bolt a new bolt and key in when i noticed the bolt had cracked and the rest of the boly was still inside the crank .. any ideas on how to get this out????? I'm gonna try the reverse drill thing they sell.. any experience with these?

No, but that's what your supposed to use, that happened on a bolt that PepBoys broke on my block (for my water pump) and so I took it to Honda because they actually know how to work on it, and that's what they used, no problem at all. I guess it's a small drill that goes inside the broken bolt and then you back it out of there?? Good luck.

you need a bolt extractor, and hopefully the bolt is not seized in there, you might want to put some penetrating oil on it first

Sounds like what happens when you install the bolt with an impact gun. Crank pullie needs to be hand tightend.

You could also try a reverse threaded tap. Then just put a bolt in and tighten till the broken one comes out.

All I got to say is - good luck. Man I wouldn't want to be trying to do something that tedious in the first place especially there!

Sorry, and I really hope it comes out easy for you.
