z6 crankshaft the same as a6?
Today I took out my old a6 pistons/rods assembly and I wanted to transfer the pm6 pistons onto my z6 connecting rods. However after finding out that usually 6 out of 10 times the pistons break when you press out the wrist pin in order to remove the piston from the rod, and also that the z6 and a6 rods APPEAR very much to be identical...i was wanting to use the a6 pistons and rods assembly with my z6 crankshaft.
So therefore my question is...is the z6 crank the same as the a6 crankshaft so I can use my a6 rods with my z6 crank.
Also i called one part supplier and he stated that there is the same part number for a6 and z6 crankshaft main bearings and connecting rod bearings. so im assuming that the cranks are the same. However on the a6 connecting rod, it appears that the oil hole is slightly larger.
PLease if anyone knows for sure let me know..thanks

z6 and a6 cranks are identical. y7 and y8 cranks are different than these. The only way they're different from what I've found when talking to people is that z6 and a6 use chamfered oil holes while the y's don't
