Default JDM Headlight and Foglight question

Hi
Well I just joined the forum, I've joined various Prelude forums I found a set of installation instruction for the JDM headlights (BB4), from what I've heard you just have to cut off the USDM Harness and and solder the pos. and negative wires of the JDM harness to the wires. But then I got confused with a website that explained it differently using the USDM harness and everything I thought I knew fell apart lol. So if anyone has time to tell me how they installed theirs...also I never found instructions for the JDM fog lights..

Thank You

follow this diagram. cut ur usdm harness and wire in just like digram.

as far as fogs just wire them into the fog plugs on the car. every prelude has the plugs behind front bumper. just cut and splice into or add the male end (that matches the plug on car) to the jdm fogs and just plug in.

that diagram below is a good way to fry you stock high beam harness. that is not the right way to do it. do not connect the h4 high beam to anything. that how it is done in japan.

that wiring will keep both high and low beam filiments of the H4 bulb lit when you hit the brights. very dangerous, you need a relay.

youve just doubled the load on your high beam electrical system

theres more to it than just wiring up bulbs

how exactly am i doubling the load? all i did was tap into a negative (ground) and use that. the hots are not connected together at all.

each bulb is still wired up the same as factory. just with one ive grounded twice in essence

^you can wire like how he has it. or just do it normally. doesn't matter.

just letting you know the stock jdm headlights weren't meant to be wired like this because the stock jdm headlights don't use the high beam filiment of the h4's. its just how it is. you can wire it up like but i didn't. since i used the jdm harness off my clip........there is no way to wire like oem

ah ok
it looked like you tapped something into the 3rd terminal of the h4 bulb...the one used for the high beam filament on the h4 bulb

ic but i dont see how you can ruin anything wiring it exactly like stock. if anything the bulb would blow if it wernt a dual filament

orrrr you could wire your headlights up the easiest way:
buy 4 H4 harnesses from here: http://www.passwordjdm.com/pro...D=199

then buy 2 H1 sockets and 2 H4 sockets from here: http://www.suvlights.com/produ...d=124

put them together, plug in, and go. no cutting or wiring needed at all

agh i like that socket adapter. i might havta pick them up for my new lude dont rly wanna cut and splice again. so i guess would just wire the 2 negatives coming from the h4 as one into that adapter. since it has 2 wire terminals and the headlights have 3 wires. good find. i was gunna go searching for something like this when i get the new lude next weekend (hopefully)

Ok sorry to revive this thread but I need help again ha, I never bought the JDM headlights to start with; but now I'm about to buy some blackhousings for $200 shipped.
And this is how it looks on the back, how am I supposed to wire it with it not having a tails coming out of the headlights?

Let the flaming start :D

Anyone have the ebay 1 pieces.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

I thought I remember reading from a previous thread that someone bought them and said they fit very well and they looked about the same as the legit jdm ones. Less hassle tho because no wiring was needed.

Can anyone comment?

and i've heard the exact opposite (minus the wiring because it truly is pnp)

but for 200 bux, why not just buy real jdm headlights????

About the sockets...You can choose either the H1 (EURO) or H1 (JDM). The JDM is the one to get, right?

And about the H4's... It's gonna be the 9006/HB4?
