listen...your B16a head is a much better flowing head than the GSR on that you have...in fact most GSR people swap out their GSR head for a b16A head they flow better and have more capabilities for top end power. stick with your head and sell the GSR with the money you get buy something that will actuall ADD power...any other questions please lemme know ok

good luck (didn't mean to flame)

B-series VTEC head gaskets are interchangable.

It doesn't flow like an "insane" amount better. The GSR head gives more compression too but not a crazy amount. So both have their ups/downs.

The flow characteristics between a GSR and B16 head are negligable at best. The GSR will shine slightly more in the middle part of a power band, where the b16 will shine in the higher RPMs, but the differences aren't that considerable.

Much like adding GSR cams to a b16a head, the power differences are negliable at best - I've seen GSR cams in a b16a head lose a few horsepower through the power band.

I do agree though, keep your b16a head, do a port job and call it a day.

are you boosting your car?? If so i would go with the GSR head but if you plan on staying n/a i would definetely keep the B16 head

Ok first of all raseing my over all compretion from 10/1 to 11.25/1

To let you all in b16a bottom end
GSR head (less domes higher compresstion)
B16b intack cam (there is the top end of b16b)
B18c1 exost came
dule valves

this is the set up.. and about the small increas more like 15 ***** befor vtec and a good 15-20 after after a good street tune...

and if i was boosting my car i would keep my b16 head ot take my head and put in on a gsr block.. 11.25/1 to high for any boost...

this is a huge compresstion change... i have looked you all the info... and the set up is like a goo0d ls-vtec... i gust needed info on the gaket i needed and the person that help me thx...

Since when does switching out a 10.2:1 compression b16a head for a 10.4:1 GSR head raise your compression to 11.25:1? How thin of a head gasket are you using here? I don't think that's possible, but I don't feel like looking up the numbers.

OP: I believe all B-series vtec head gaskets are the same (gs-r, B16, and type-r)

lol GSR head is not gonna raise your compression that much more...

10.7:1ish if that. And thats with P30s

My understanding is that the gsr head yields about .2 higher compression than a b16 head. Flat valves maybe another .1 and another .1 with a thin headgasket. maybe .5 higher total compresson using all of these things together. assuming your using USDM gsr pistons you should see about 10.3 c/r. You should just go ahead and change pistons while your in there and get that 11:1 c/r. Go for type-r pistons, jdm will yeild more compression than usdm.

Well his sig says "pending turbo" so I don't think he needs more compression really.

i am srcaping the trubo for now... and with a good chipped ecu and 2 ply head gaskets the comprestion will jump alot...

with the 2-ply i think you will gain .2, most of the thinner headgasakets will tell you how much they will raise it

Yea that chipped ecu will really bump it up

Keep the b16 head.

If boosting, i'd keep the B16 head on there. The GSR is weak on valves. They always break when using FI.
