im going to change my stock gsr valve cover for a type r cover thats on my b16,do i half to change the valve cover gasket or can i strait swap with out buying new gaskets

 

It's a very good idea to change the vc gasket. Especially with all those miles on the motor. I could understand if the motor was new, but yeah, it's recommended.

 

yes like he said^^^ it is a very good idea to change it. they are not that expensive and it will make things that much easier if you install the old one and it leaks and you have to do it over again, even though its not a big pain to swap it out. I always use new gaskets on everything i take apart.

 

i never did this before,are all b series gasket covers the same,because im swapping my valve cover between both my motors,and do i need any kind a sealant?thanks

 

should be fine w/o replacing it.... b16a and b18c use the same valve cover gaskets. Of course it is recommended that you do replace the gaskets though.....

 

its not that much, and much safe, no worry about leaking. btw: you need to put some honda bond or w/e on edges.
