Default Much difference between the 92-96 and the 97-01?

Welp I currently own a 94, but have a chance to get my hands on a 98 in town for right around 7k. Wondering is there much difference? My car has an h22 in it and so does this one, but ive heard that the newer ludes are heavier then the old ludes. Words of wisdom before i go and sell my car to buy this one?

IMO the only rea reason to go to a 5th gen is cause they are newer. So likely less miles, less rust, and less wear. That is a generalization of course.

If your gonna go 5th gen find one real new and low milage so you are reaping full benifit. I would spend the extra couple g's and get a 00 or 01 with super low milage myself.

The 4th gen was the most performance oriented prelude with the least amount to compromises. Which is good for us, but the average person wanted a more rounded veichle (more room, normal styling...etc). Honda gave in and tried to compromise with the 5th gen by making it softer, roomier, and more neutral styling. The weight difference isn't that much, but you can feel it. Its wierd because there's only 100 pounds difference. Also, for me at least, a 5th gen feels really wide and overall larger while you are driving it. I'm only 6ft and my head brushed on the moonroof cover all the time too

summary: performance, looks (yeah this is subjective)....4th gen
daily driver, reliability, attention .....5th gen

In all honesty, I think the seats in the 5th gen give it a drastically different feel from the 4th gen.

I put 5th gen seats in my 92 and noticed a pretty drastic change in feel. They sit higher and make it feel less like a cockpit and more like an Accord.

Keep your 4th gen. I test drove a 99 lude and I didnt care for it too much. I like the way 4th gen seats feel when compared to 5th gen seats. 5th gen seats made me feel like I was driving an Accord.

speaking of seats, are 4th and 5th gens seats interchangeable? without alot of modification, i have a 4th gen, and i'm picking up a 5th gen in a few days, i'm thinking about swapping the seats before getting rid of the 4g from what i've heard

I did a writeup on 5th gens into a 4th gen. Here is what I did. The reverse may be a little more dificult, but I don't know for sure.

I've owned both and to be honest I think they both feel the same. I think the newer lude seats feel better. you can lower the seat to hug your hips more and feel more sporty or raise it up for a road trip. IMO for 5th gen seats.

you say that you are 6 feet and your head touches the moonroof cover? (sivikvtec) thats funny because i am 6'3" and i have absolutely no problems sitting in it. if you sit like a 65 year old man then i see your problem, otherwise the seats are great

Why would you want that? A real high performance vehicle's "control area" should feel like a cockpit...
