Default ZC swapped EF, pilot bearing does not fit flywheel (Si trans)

helps! .. I'm doing a clutch for a friend, he supplied an OEM Exedy clutch kit, and the pilot bearing that came with the kit is too large to fit the flywheel, it almost appears the spline fits snug on the flywheel? .. I've researched and come up with no real info, other than on the ZC there may be a bushing rather than a bearing? .. anyone have any info to share?

Maybe he got a 88 clutch kit. 88's are different from 89-91.

88 - 21 spline.
89-91 - 20 spline.

Spline isn't the problem, its the lack of a pilot bearing .. anywhere! When I took apart the clutch, there was no pilot bearing to be found anywhere. pics ftw/l

I wish I could remember what I did when I did my ZC engine swap. i def. used a pilot bearing though. it even said "japan" on it, lol.

If you're talking about the bearing sitting on the flywheel in the last pic, that's the bearing that he bought to install, I placed it there for reference to the size of the hole it should fit in from behind.

it looks like it's supposed to fit on the crank mating surface. there's like an indent for it. i don't know if it fits though, or if i'm just being completely retarted.

I'm thinking that too, but I'm so used to seeing the impression on the back of the flywheel, trips me out .. as well, where the hell is the old one? lol .. that is what is really confusing me.

the flywheel you have is from 86-89 Integra which didn't use a pilot bearing - the input shaft was supported by the flywheel without a bearing - my guess is you don't have a ZC engine, but have a Interga D16A1 - running L3 transmission without a pilot bearing is going to quickly end up with toasted input shaft bearing in the transmission

this is 86-89 Integra transmission input shaft
