Where is the code on cable B-series trannys??
It's on a small tag that is on the flat part of the case JUST TO THE LEFT of the engine code when the motor and tranny are together.
Mine have all been on little golden <maybe brass> plates with black letters.

YS-1 Is either a 92-93 GSR or LS <can't tell externally I've heard>
S-1 Is a JDM Short ratio tranny
J-1 I also a JDM short ration tranny
Y-1 is a normal JDM B16a tranny
A-1 is a USDM 90-91 LS tranny with the small input shaft <clutch buyers beware>
I had a JDM tranny with a 90-91 style input shaft before, so be sure to make sure your clutch disk fits TIGHTLY On whatever tranny you get!

one other thing, any other way to tell if no plate?? My trans has to hoses that come out by the speedo cable?? Dont know what they are?? I dunno if only usdm or jdm comes with that or maybe both ?? Thanks
What are the 2 hoses that come out by the speedo sensor?? Do they have to do anything with jdm or usdm models?? What if I dont have a plate like that is there any difference in any trannys that are noticable on the outside??

They are for power steering fluid on the jdm models of cars. Plug them off dont worry about them.
