Default 97 CRV w/ erratic AC/Heater issue

My girlfriend has a 97 CRV that has recently developed a strange problem. The car will only blow air if the fan is turned to full blast with either the vent, heater, or A/C on, but....it takes a couple of seconds for it to start to blow air. Once on, if we try to to turn the fan to a lower setting other than full blast, the fan shuts off. The fuses were checked and they're all O.K. My guess is that either the switch is on its way out or there's a loose connection somewhere. There is also a funny buzz coming from under or around the glove box. Anyone else ever experience this with their CRV? Any suggestions? If anyone has the schematic from the manual I'd like to see it. Thanks!

It's the blower motor. Buy a new one.

Not sure about the '97 CRV, but on most older Hondas the blower motor speed is controled by switching power thru a blower motor resistor. Symptom of a blown blower motor resistor is the lowest or lower speeds won't work, but the highest speed will.

The resistor is normally mounted on the blower housing with 2 screws and has a plug in connector with about 5 wires. Easy enough to pull for a visual confirmation of failure. Maybe a $60 part at the dealer.

blower resistor/transistor.... can be verified by confirming that the a/c compressor won't cycle when turned on. the a/c compressor clutch control circiut has to see a signal from the heater verifying fan operation through the blower resitstor/transistor.
cant be a bad blower if the fan works on high speed. also the blower has a secondary circuit for high speed.
