Default Y8 - Dyno & Street Tuned This Weekend: 205whp/174ft-lbs 10psi

Hey guys.

On Saturday I drove up to Tampa to get tuned by John Vega. It was a great experience. The car feels awesome. We had a little bit of a boost drop off, possibly due to a minor boost leak. Damnit! Making this power at around 10 pounds of boost. Spent about 2 hours on the dyno and half an hour on the street. Props to Vega!

Sweet Car man, You have a Very Clean setup...

When john over layed your graph on that other 99 EX that day You had a sweet mid range!

Look for a boost leak... Perhaps?

thanks man. yeah i'm going to have to look all over for a boost leak. you saw how tight i had those t-clamps on! i'm thinking i'm losing some pressure on the fpr line. i'm going to change them tomorrow and see what happens.

Nerdsports has that same turbo and at 12 psi he made 270 something whp and over 220 ftlbs of torque

Was the timing messed with at all (i know its a touchy subject when dealing with y8/crome or uberdata setups)

Glad the setup made a smooth powerband & you enjoyed it :-)

The setup was tuned to the max....
The setup was dropping off boost by 2-3 psi at the end of the power band.

I believe there is a boost leak somewhere which is causing the loss of boost

john is it possible that i could lose that much boost from the tees at the fpr to the boost gauge and bov? that seems to be the only weak spot?

Did you do the pressure test yet & found air escaping from those connections ?
