Default timing??

will a car run without the knock hooked up? or will it stay in limp mode?

the car is only throwing two codes 21. 22. they both involve vtec so that cant be why the car isnt running. could it be the timing? the car doesnt have a set idle, and when i give it gas it boggs out and dies. any help??

Why don't you go ahead and give us more information about the chassis, ECU and motor before you start asking broad-sweeping questions like that? GM cars can run without their knock sensors hooked up, but I'm not sure what you drive, so I don't know if that helps.

94 cx hb.jdm d15b. cx harness, p08 ecu, vtec not wired, o2 not wired

car jumps rpms from 500 to like 1200.. you have tou feather the clutch and the gas around 1500 rpm to get it moving.. even then the car will eventually die. any help?

I don't think P08s detect knock.

...your oxygen sensor isn't wired up and you're concerned about a knock sensor? What codes is your ECU throwing and what makes you think the symptoms you're describing are due to a knock sensor?

Seems like you have no idea about what you're speaking.

Take it to a mechanic, friend.

1.) your car cannot run without an oxygen sensor - or at least it can't run worth a ****. It's four wires, son. Make it happen.

2.) VTEC is not needed.

3.) you're obvioulsy not mechanically inclined enough to be doing this, so take it to a mechanic or a local Honda-Tech guru and have them fix it for you for a case of beer and a pizza.

Your car will not run in limp mode. On my old B16 my knock sensor kept coming loose and it made no difference in how the car drove, just threw a CEL.

I did a search and the P08 doesn't detect knock. I don't think any SOHC ECU did...

to hook up the o2 sensor is really easy all you have to do is jack up the car find the 4 wires that hook up to the o2 senosor and hook them up to the the o2 sensor then plus the o2 sensor into your exhaust manifold.

uh...no. He has a CX harness which is a 1 wire O2 sensor. So its not exactly plug and play.

I have no idea how to do it . Good luck

anyone can answer my question? i have nearly the same problem... i just swaped my engine. It is now a zc sohc vtec. with P08 ecu... my just wondering if what is the original ecu of zc sohc vtec? is it P28 or P08?

here is my big problem... the car is running good, but sometimes my check engine warning light at the gauge will light, so i will turn off the engine then turn it on again to get rid off the light and my speed sensor always going up and down even im not running but the engine is turned on....

what do you think is the problem?

i checked my ecu codes... my first check is # 17 ( speed sensor) and # 21 (vtec solenoid) so i tried to removed all the sensors in the engine and put it back, then i checked again the ecu code - # 20 electrical load detector. i found out that from the ecu the slot of the load detector was no wire....

what is wrong with my engine and ecu?

thanks for anyone who can help me...

your car can run without o2 sensor but it will be hard to keep proper air/fuel mixture, and knock sensor basically read knocks or detonations in the engine (dont really needed-but vtec wont work w/o it)

it could be the sensor wires or gauge cluster..
