I have an opportunity to get both of these motors....the CTR is about 500 more after I get the axles and tranny that it doesnt come with. The CTR is on ebay, but dude said he would take an ESCROW service, so im not too worried about getting jerked off..the gsr motor is from hondamotors and supposedly comes with everything.

 

B18 is bigger displacement.
More potential.

 

humm... btw, im on my brothers account, im a real n00b when it comes to cars, but if any of you have computer problems... come to me. i do alot of computer cooling ****, and overclocking... heh, my pc is rigged up to a radiator and watercooling.. just thought i should share, but anyway... gsr or b16b humm..

 

I'm relatively a newbie at this stuff, but I can tell you this much: although the CTR produces as much (maybe more) hp compared to the GSR engine (I'm basing this statement on previous readings and also factory ratings) remember that the Civic achieves this power by using high compression. I'm not a mechanic but I think it's safe to say that "soup ups" such as turbos are not good for a high compression engine.

My recommandation? Go with the GSR engine... I know that's what my civic will have in a year or two.

 

b18's are the way to go IMO

 

Get the CTR motor.

I would get the CTR over the GSR motor any day of the week. If you can get it for as cheap as you say, you can turn it around and sell it for like $1000-1500 more.

Take the money, get a GSR motor and put the rest of the money into that.

 

yea if you can get your hands on a CTR motor for the price of a GSR, sell it and build a GSR or a b20vtec.

 

a GSR motor, the B18C1, makes 170 hp, while the CTR B16B make 185hp. Problem is that the CTR motor is low on torque, and you might not be able to get it goos enough gas. I think you're supposed to get 94 octane on the motor because of the high compression. Get the GSR motor, and throw on some boltons. And never buy motors off the net from peeps you don't know.
