Overheating
i have a stock 88 civic hatchback dx well i think after running with no oil and the heater house blowing off and me stoping and fixing it i have a slight rod knock.......after 2000 rpms u can hear it and my temp gage broke and when i turn the car off after 20mins of driving smoke comes out of the tail pipe and valve cover breather ....any idea how to fit it ? or why its over heating
yeah id say u developed a rod knock if u ran it without oil. i think it is time to save for that swap u have been dreaming of. or atleast another stock motor
oh and the overheating. id say blown head gasket or warped head. if it is blowing water and white smoke out the exhaust then it definatly needs a head gasket.

ditto, how long was the heater hose blown off for? Over heating does cause the head to warp... But after replacing the head gasket and heater hose nothing if fixed save for another stock motor or swap.
