Default 225/45/17 on 05 Wheels on 02-04 RSX

Kinda specific, ain't it? Just looking for bit of help here. I'm about to buy some tires for some 05 wheels I got but would like to see what they'd look like with 225s on there instead of the normal 215s. Any pics would do the trick.

P.S. - I don't care about the color or if the car is lowered or not, just want to see how wide the wheels stick out (if any).

because most oem rims are 6.5 width and 225 is made for like 8 inch width wheel, i have desmond regamaster evo rims that are 17x8 and the 225/45/17's i have on them fit perfectly. imo, if the rim you talking about is actually 6.5 then i would think that might look funny, and the tire would just be too big for the wheel.

The 05/06 RSX-S Rims are 17x7. I was under the impression that 225 wide passenger tires were designed to fit tires 7" to 8 1/2".

I actually have 225/50/16s on the car right now but I'm trying to see the same setup with 05 rims.

well that was just my opinion, well if you got it on your rims now then it shouldnt be to much different except you would be going 1 inch bigger in size, and .5 inch bigger in width on your rims. so i doubt it would stick out any, just whenever you lower your car, you might have to be careful, but on stock ride height you are fine.

btw are the 16 rims you have on now, the stock type s rims? because they are 6.5, i thought you said yourself that 225's only fit 7 - 8.5 rims. did those fit okay? or have any problems?

I'm planning on lowering the car at the same time I put the wheels on.

Yeah, I got the stock Type-S wheels now. As far as i've heard, 225 wide tires are meant for 7-8.5. I only got them because I had to some used tires and that's all they had. I can't really say if I'm getting any problems though. I actually drive "safely and responsibly" now. I don't even know when last I've broken the speed limit or even floored the gas pedal.

If I can't get a good pic by the time I'm ready to install the wheels, I;ll just go with the 215s. I've seen what those look like all over the damn place.

Alright whatever. If I don't get a pic by the 15th, I'm just gonna get the 215s. Later on I might consider get some spacers dependin on the look I get.

I'd just do 215. you won't lose hardly anything going with that over the 225. I think you need 7.5" to run that size safely without tire bulge.

I have decided to go with the 215/45/17s. If I don't think it sits close enough to flush, I'll just look in to some spacers.

Edit: Also, I have 225s on my 16s right now and they don't look bad. It's only on two of the tires though. That's why I didn't make up my mind based on those.

just to let u know. I m using 215/45/17 on 17*8 wheels, b/c Mugen racing spec states that. But i believe, 17*7 with 225/45/17 should be fine, it could protect the wheels slightly i guess...good luck
