Default Help me out with a problem

I just got my car back from being painted and it turns out that somehow two of the bolts on my Distributor were missing. The first time it started up and it sounded funny, now it wont even start up. The battery is not dead, no oil is leaking from the dizzy and im sure the starter is not bad because it was replaced a couple 1,000 miles ago. I also tried to push start it and it turned over but no spark. Do I need a new distributor or what can I do?

So you just got it back from paint and now you are 2 missing bolts? How well do you trust the shop that did your work? To me it sounds like someone had a bad distributor and swaped it out with yours. Hey I maybe wrong, I just know that when I am swaping parts around on things, the one I care least about gets a temp installation. In your case I hope thats didnt happen. Either way, check for spark, good connections and pull the cap and give things a once over. Good Luck.

it was probably just leaking because it was only secured by 1 bolt.. the part you have to take off is the cap and see if any oil is inside the dizzy where all the electrical parts are.. its the black piece that has 3 8 millimeter bolts holding it on

a manual and a multimeter. They are you best friend when working with aging Honda's.

My 97 EK wouldn't start all of a sudden the other day. I checked for spark at the coil and I had it (external MSD) so I pulled the rotor and sanded it clean and it started. So I got a new rotor and wala.
I sure hope the shop didn't do a switch on ya. that would suck.

COULD BE YOUR MAIN RELAY.......OTHER THAN YOUR FUEL PUMP IT STARTS YOUR IGNITION SYSTEM TOO.............OH YEAH, CHECK YOUR IGNITION SWITCH (ELECTRICICAL) TOO, THEY HAVE TENDENCY OF GOING BAD AFTER A WHILE.........

WELL, BEFORE MY MAIN RELAY WENT BAD (ABOUT 2 YRS) MY IGNITION SWITCH WAS GOING BAD TOO, WHAT HAPPENED WAS SIMILAR BETWEEN THE MAIN RELAY AND THE IGNITION SWITCH, IT WOULDNT START THE CAR, AND THIS MIGHT SOUND FUNNY.......... WHEN MY INGITION SWITCH WENT BAD I HAD TO BUMP MY STEERING COLUMN WITH THE KEY ENGAGED TO RUN TO START THE CAR UNTIL THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO GET A NEW ONE IN STOCK, THERE IS REALLY NO WAY TO CHECK THEM....OTHER THAN USING A MULTI-METER, YOU COULD DO THAT TO DETERMINE IF IT IS YOUR IGNITION SWITCH OR YOUR MAIN RELAY...........
