Default Over Reving question

Yo,
i have a stock JDM h22a i bought stage 2 cams for it and supertech valve springs but i dont have the compression to make the cams wake up in my mid range like my stock ones did, so i rev it higher to make the power back.

My question is will i be safe reving my car to 7800-8000rpm's?

Because im worried about spining a bearing and cracking a sleeve, should i be worried about this?

revving that high is never a good idea, i don't think. i never go above 6000 just to be safe.

Nope

Stock bottom H22 have been pushed a good bit farther than 8000rpm. Rev as far as powerband dictates...

lol I take my car deep into the 7000's, I don't know where exactly. The real question is, where's the best point for me to shift? I land in Vtec everytime at that point.

HA! What a waste of a VTEC engine. I saw a post by Blake once that said that 8000 rpm on the tach is actually only 7700 rpm. I know that the higher the rpms go on the tach, the more distortion there is in the reading, so it makes sense. You can go past redline. That's why there is a fuel cut-off. You don't want to hit that too often though.

if you have an h22, ive read many times that you dont make power past around 8k so thats useless, someone correct me if im wrong.

lets see....your a d-bag cause he was talkin about the person he quoted, who has a stock valvetrain, and not the OP.

It's actually more like 7 grand for stock H22s, the only benefit to reving higher with stock valvetrain is landing in teh V-ATTACK

EDIT: Also, none of you guys are really reving past 7400 unless you moved up the fuel cut with some sort of engine management. JDM, USDM, BLAHDM, it doesn't matter, the H22's fuel cut is 7400, regardless of what that little lying son of a bitch tach is trying to tell you.

I wouldnt waste take the rpm that high unless you have some type of EMS, also taking the rpm higher does help sometimes depending on the gear you're in and also it is helpful through corners and such.
