Default Thanks for all the track help

I want to personally thank everyone and anyone that has provided me with information about how to properly drag race and what not to do. I was able to pull a 14.81 tonight with a shitty 2.3 60' time. I was racing an 03 Type S with supposedly only an intake, but I then saw/heard his exhaust, so he might have had more. Anyway, he ran a 14.9, but it was a good race. I got nervous on this run and popped the clutch out, but my shifts were perfect and I finally broke into the 14s. O and by the way, I am all stock except for 05 Type S wheels. I was going to put my intake on yesterday, but I wanted to see how I could do one more time at the track stock. It was amazing.

Wow. I thought the 06 Si was a 15 second car? I've run 14.0 in the 350z when I had it, and a 13.8 in the G35 (modded)... gives me something to look forward to!

Question, what's in your opinion the best launch point for the Si?

The SI is a stock mid 14 car with a good driver... whoever it was that said they thought it was a 15.
Even got a 14.2 on one occasion, perfect driving and conditions assumed.

I wish I could get a chance to take mine to the track... I have NO experience but it would be fun.

Yea all the magazines were rating it at about 15.2, but I guess it depends on the driver. As for launch, I am still trying to figure that one out. My guess though, rev to the neutral rev limit of 5500 and feather out the clutch. On my first run, I feathered it out, but only reved to about 4000 and I ran a 15.0

Yes, rev to the neutral rev limiter, and then feather the clutch, be sure not to spin the tires too much during launch. You need to keep the momuntem equal the entire time. When you launch all the weight shifts to the back, you want to keep that weight back there as much as possible, when you car's weight shifts forward and backwards you loose a lot of momentum.
