Default Sway Bar Question for Civic Coupe

Hey guys, kinda been on here for awhile but never posted. I own an 06 Type-S and was going to buy Buddy Club Race Header, I know I needed to replace my sway bar with another, one that will clear the header. I ordered one from a Honda Dealership, for a 2003 Civic EX Coupe, my question is are the 01-05 (all models) civic coupe front sway bar the same?

TIA

There is no difference in bars from 01-05, as well as no difference between EX, DX, LX, VP or anything like that. They all have the same 23mm bar.

I haven't actually measured my OEM bar since I put in the one from Progress. But it is TINY. MAYBE 10 or 11 mm at most. I would have to measure mine, or look it up.

EDIT: I just looked it up on http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and it stated that the OEM rear bar on the EX's are 12mm. So I was not very far off at all.

It is. It takes alot of the "sloppy" feel out of the back end. It feels alot more responsive, and you have alot more control in the corners.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I did hear that the front anti-swaybar does have a few shape differences between the EX and other models. The reason being, for exhaust pipe clearance. My sister's LX does seem to be a different shape than my EX.

Sounds like he's asking the difference in the front sway bar for manifold clearance, not the rears. FYI, the DX has NO rear sway bar.

Front sway bars vary, the thickest are on the dx/lx at I believe 24.5 mm. I have a progress bar that's a full 27 mm and I love it.

andyman97 is correct. The front and rear sway bars vary throughout 01-05 and throughout the trim levels. Look at this http://www.geocities.com/bellz....html

-edit-matt is also correct. There is a shape difference between the ex and the other trim levles.

If you want a smaller swaybar, get one from an 05 Civic LX/EX/SE Sedan. They are 15.9mm for the front bars.

But, I just looked up the 03 Ex coupe and it is also 15.9mm for the front bar.

The 01 Civic EX had a 25.4mm front swaybar for some odd reason. That's no different than the RSX front swaybar. But keep in mind that a large front swaybar does not necessarily mean better handling.

Ok- this post is starting to get a little old (datewise), but I figured I'd throw a comment on anyway. If you're looking to seriously change your rear sway, etc. then check out what neuspeed has. They've got a pretty sweet setup for around $4-500. Don't know anyone that has it so I'm not sure if it's one of those that just looks good or what, but if you're still looking it might be worth a glance.
