GEO engine swap
ok I will ask this qeustion here since i was referred here lol >_< I am looking to get a EG6 Front clip and doing a swap into my 94 Prizm LSi but I was wondering if and how much id have to fabricate and or any opinions if you tihnk of a better engine that is fairly cheap for a swap thatll be better if you do know how much work and or fabrication is involved please give me a list on this topic... thanks
ok so i can do one of these front clips to do the swap i want a vote lol
D27A Eclipse - Includes 4G63T Engine, 5-Speed AWD Transmission, and Fuel Pump
EG6 Civic - Includes B16A Engine, 5-Speed LSD Transmission, and Fuel Pump
or i could even do a
S13 180SX - Includes SR20DET Redtop Engine, 5-Speed Transmission, Driveshaft, Differential, and Fuel Pump
which od you all tyhink

I'm guessing you pulled that list out of your ****?
The easiest of those would be the eg6, because it's staying FWD. The others would be an extremeley large hassle, especially for someone with no experience like yourself. To convert to RWD or AWD there would be so much fabrication and time involved you could just sell your geo and buy an eclipse, or 240.

ok listen here dumbfuck I know exactly wtf im doing stupid **** maybe i do need some knowledge in somethings think you know everything yourself? maybe i dont care how hard itd be maybe im just looking to have some fun dumb **** i have done many engine swaps with many newer model imports you prolly only wish you could touch including RB25's RB 26's SR20's EG6's EK9 and the list goes on so dont talk **** when you dont even know me....
can you weld or fabricate? if not, it's going to be tough... you are going to make mistakes and do things over again. I had to do all the wiring and all the welding (on the unibody) twice. was a good learning experience and could do it over again in 1/10th the time!
I put my h22 in my CRX with NO experience with fabrication - I look back and laugh at some methods I used to cut and size metal..
Engine mounts, custom axles and some serious wiring are the main things. Little things like getting the vehicle speed sensor working with your gauge cluster are going to haunt you when you mix and match between manufacturers..

First of all I didn't 'talk ****'. I was pointing out how you're all over the map with what you 'want', which leads me to believe you don't really understand what it takes to get things like this going.
Unless you swapped those rb25s into a small FWD car, and not the 240 that I suspect you did, then the swaps you're talking about are much more involved.
Maybe if your posts weren't giant run on sentences, with little to no punctuation, I could understand exactly the point you're trying to get across.
And no that list you gave in no way is something that "i only wish i could touch". Not only is it completely random (engine codes thrown in with chassis codes, what are you getting at?), but none of that listed is 'special' in any way. Not when I'm used to helping put together 351s to power 10 second mustangs.
Ok, but to seriously answer your question, you'd be best off with the ls7. It would be the easiest swap to fit, and also be the cheapest for the power potential.....

Just a thought, your "Geo" is actually a Toyota Corrola. Have you looked into Toyota motor swaps? I know the 3SGTE (MR2 turbo motor) bolts into Celica's from that vintage, maybe yours too? Call Toysport.

ok sorry for being rude but you just came off worse then i saught sorry but anyways i do have slight exp in fab work not a whole lot of extensive but im am trying to learn as much as possible i start college in auto tech in jan but was just looking for something different to try out and the geo and a completly different engine to throw in seemed different enough lol i have heard of 350 and bigger being put in but no import engines being throw in
Spent 2 seconds on Wiki and found the answer for your project. Yank out the 7A-FE and put in a 4AG-20V. It's already setup for FWD, bolts into a Corolla/Prizm chassis, and belts out 160hp through factory quad throttles. Get a clip from a Levin/Sprinter.
That will be a turd.
if you can fit a 4AG-20V, you can fit a 3SGTE. They both fit into MK1 MR2's - you just need to fab mounts.
The 4AG is a fun motor if you got a grip of cash and can build it for 11,000rpm, but it will never see more than 180whp NA.
Either of those engines should be able to afford you to use some combination of factory axles though.
If you go honda/mitsu/nissan you're going to have to pay for some pretty pricey custom axles.

Check toypsort.com, or give them a call. Also check out club4ag.com. Keep in mind, boostd92 is right. The car won't be a rocket ship, and the 20V can produce really good power with FI, or hit astronomical revs NA, but it takes a mega cash infusion.
That said, it bolts right in, and its a really cool motor and decently stout from the factory. Just don't expect to eat vette's with the motor stock in a big ol' Geo body.
If you're comfortable fabbing mounts and possibly getting creative with the axles, go for the 3S-GTE. It's bigger, its turbo's, and the motors are fairly cheap (relatively anyway...)
Either way, get service manuals and wiring diagrams and budget ALOT of time for making a hybrid harness.

4AGE 20V is overrated. It actually makes less power than the 16V would, but it has a better cam profile and much better air induction system (ITB).
3SGTE would be a good swap choice, but the thread starter doesn't seem like a very mechanically inclined person, evidence can be seen with his posts.
If there's a 4AFE in there right now, think it'd be easiest to source a GE head from an AE92 or else you could get one from an AE86, but you'd have to find the intake manifold from the AE92 because of the throttle body location. Then after the head swap, do a turbo kit.
If there's a 7AFE in there right now, source yourself a 4AGE engine from an AE92 and do a direct swap in or else make a custom 7AFTE.
Or you could scrap both ideas and do a 4AGZE swap from a 1G MR2, but either way, these three woud be the EASIEST things to do.

AAAAAgreeed. 4AG would be the way to go with a swap for a Geo since it's basically a Corolla. Consider this as well: If you are going to spend this much money on a GEO, might as well get something else. There is going to be a lot of down time on your vehicle due to fabrication, etc.
And it looks like you retrieved that "list" from Jarco. They offer good products. Good people.

First off, the 90-91 Geo Prism Gsi (very, very rare) came with a 130 hp version of the 4age--7700 redline stock. I am pretty sure there is a 4afe in there now. Also, it isn't too hard to get a 4age over 180 hp, you can get 220 if you really work at it (this is crank I am talking about) Formula Atlantic 4age are up to 255-260 (crank) I think honestly the best swap would be to find a silver or black top 20 valve 4age from an ae 101 and ae 111 corolla. You could find an old 4age froma Gsi or even a Corolla fx-16 but you would have either 130 or 112-116 stock--not too exciting. It should physically bolt right in, then its just a question of wiring--and transmission--I believe a 6 speed was available. Those are 150-160 hp stock. (although they seem to dyno around 115-125 wheel hp)
ok ill deffinetly try for the 4AG 20v in the ae 111 i found afront clip from JARCO INC for sale for the 111 levin with a 4ag 20v blacktop but ill deffinetly kee pyou all posted on the progress of the build and any other info for it would be appreciated...
Just curious, but why would you create an account on honda-tech, then ask this question about your toyota made Geo?
I'm not trying to stir ****, in fact, I don't even own a running honda at the moment, I have a 3S-GE AE86 and a 1VZ-FE 91 camry, i'm just wondering why you came to a honda board to ask about a toyota, that's all.

Correct. 6 Speed was available to the blacktop 20v 4AGs. But if you search around a little it may be possible to swap the heads. It's not reliable from what I've heard, but it's possible IF you know what's going on. IMO, get a corolla and do the swap in it.
