I've been noticing that my car has been burning quit a bit of oil. If I get on the throttle I see blue smoke bellowing out the back and then when I let off black smoke pours out.

I checked the compression and everything is within spec. The timing is in spec. The engine was sitting for about 14 months though. Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

I forgot to add that my vtec doesn't work until 7200rpm. Someone at work thought maybe that could be causing this. Does that sound resonable?

Have your PCV checked out. Sorta sounds like it may be hung up, from it setting for awhile... hehehe

 

pcv == postive crankcase ventalation right? The black canister on the back of the block.

The valve guides may be leaking too.

 

is there any easy way to check for that? Leakdown test?
