How do I test sensors/switches with a multimeter???
I was wondering what setting do I put it on to test window/door/power lock switeches, sensors, and any kind of relay. Am I supposed to put in on the Ohm setting to test resistance. Im trying to figure out why my alram keeps activating thus kicking in the starter kill feature. Also for some reason now my windows wont roll down. Any info would be appreciated. THANKS!
Need more info...
1- MM&Y of car.
2- Make and model of alarm.
For power windows, the first thing to do is check the fuses, Honda/Acura power windows have at least 3 fuses, a main fuse and then 1 for each window.
The power windows in Honda/Acuras us a "normally grounded" system, [both wires going to window motors from switches are grounded], when you rock a window switch up or down the switch will "lift" the ground from one of the wires and supply it with 12V+ the window will roll up or down, depending on which way you rock the switch.

Car - 1996 Civic EX W/B16 (don't know if the engine matters or not)
Alarm - Viper 350HV
The multimeter Im using is a Craftsman here is a picture of that:

Anyways, is the main fuse for the window located in the fuse panel under the dash?
Also could falty door switches be that cause of this happeneing.
