I was comparing some HID kits from ebay to some sites and they all seem to have the same parts for the kit. What makes the kit good? And whats a good kit for a 98 civic?
I'm not a fan of halo's on civics.
If I were you I'd buy an HID kit and some OE headlights. It would look much cleaner.
IMO halo lights look too futuristic for a late 90's car. They look good on m3's, s2ks, and angular bodies vehicles.

Well a retro fit would be best, but also one of the most expensive ways to go. If you were to get just an aftermarket HID kit, the phillips, muculoch(SP??) are very nice and have the best warranties, with ebay, you need to be really careful and make sure it is the actual name brand and not "insert a brand here" style, when it comes to HIDs just trust me when I say not all are created equal, aftera cheap ebay set in the same projectors you probally have I ended up getting the raybrig 5000k for both the highs and lows, the truely looked like real HIDs(especially on high beams).
I guess I didn't take a pic of the high beams on, but about 1/2 way down there's a pic of the bulbs I mentioned on low beams:

If you're going to do HIDs, please retrofit some OE projector housings (i.e. s2k projectors) into you OEM headlight assemblies for the safety of everyone else on the road....

"lucenthid" on ebay is a good seller. he sells meccatune hid kits, with hella ballasts, for $225 shipped. ive seen 3 of his kits installed and used for several years with no problems.
Light going everywhere is a bad thing. HID's are supposed to have a razor sharp cutoff and minimize glare. It's "high output" is supposed to be concentrated into a normal viewing area. Most "kits" on ebay don't have that cutoff and create glare which can/will blind other drivers on the road.
