Read this thread it will help you decide wether or not to get a kit or a retro-fit.....you will probably learn a lot in that thread, I know I did.

Re: HID kits for civic (p0rnstar)
it really depends on what civic you have the result the kit will give..the eg's and older have fluted lenses which are junk.....the ek's have nice clear lenses which are better, but the fact is that they are still built for a halogen bulb...not hid.you will experience quite a bit of glare (light escaping) from OEM headlights with a kit installed.
you should read "the HID thread" by Ill_take_one....it's very good and very informative...good luck!!!
thats what i did and am now doing my own retrofit into my 95 civic with denji projectors

Re: HID kits for civic (95cxhatch)
hmm im quite intimidated, i dont know much about lighting but are there any bulbs out there that are brighter than stock? I am looking for a yellowish look rather than blue. I have a HID kit but I think Ill be using it now.
I have a EK civic but I think it will have alot of glare.

Umm since about August and yes it's national. You can still find HID kits easily though.

Actually my HID kit for my eg with the fluted lenses puts the light down better than my ek. I had to verify this with a couple of friends but it's true. I think it has something to do with the housing in the eg.
