WTF is thiss noise??
aiite well i did a self-install on my system. i have a 2ch amp bridged to 1 sub and 4 speakers connected to my deck. there is a nonstop bass noise which my friends tell me is either a loose ground wire or a loose power wire. but there is also a noise that i hear once in awhile like once every 15 mins or so that sounds like a POP that comes from my sub. does that mean its a bad sub?

How loud is this "bass noise"?

Nope. A sub moves according to what signal it receives. So that means that the sub is fine. The problem is your amp or the signal that you're feeding it.

I'm just wondering how you are listening to music on your sytem with "nonstop bass noise," and how you're hearing a pop once in a while with all that noise.

You don't have enough experience then. Connect and disconnect a 9v battery to/from the sub, and see if it doesn't pop. If the sub is good, it will pop. Now let's do the math.
Voltage = current times resistance
9 v = current times 4 ohms
9 v / 4 ohms = 2.25 amps
Voltage times current = watts
2.25 A times 9 v = 20.25 watts.
I really don't think that 20 watts is too much power for any sub.
