Default really bad idle.. ! help

my cars idle is very low for ex. it idles like around 400-500 rpm .. but when i turn my lights on it idles around 700-800 rpm as long as the lights are on .. but if i turn them off it idles really low .. whats the cause .. another idle problem is that when Iam driving with a/c my cars idle jumps up and down and sometimes my car shuts off on me when i put it in neutral. coming too a stop sign my idle goes too like 100 makes the car shake a lot rpm then jumps back too 600-700 rpm and some times when Iam coming too a stop sign my idle drop soo low that it shuts my car off .. what do u think it could be my car sometimes jerks when the a/c is on .. and it feels like some type of belt is slippin .. help

Do a search for idle problems specific IACV (idle air control valve). There is a screen that becomes covered with carbon and will cause idle problems. However the 92-95 d series motors when warm Idle at about 400 to 500 add about 300rpm when the lights are on. With the ac on the car idles around 800 rpm when warm. I other words other then the idle problem with ac on it sounds like everything is normal

i have the same problem in my car except for the a/c cause i don't have any. I noticed this problem and also that my volts dropped to 12 instead of 14 when this happened. It is probably the voltage regulator in the alt., some brushes gone bad or something. But i normally just turn on my rear defrost and it does the same as having my lights on.

it hasn't caused me any other problems except for my battery died a lot sooned than it should have. Yellow top optima dead in 3 1/2 years.

julio, you can also increase the idle by messing with the idle screw on the throttle body.

Hope you have luck with fixin that idle. A year later and almost a grand of parts didnt fix it for me. Still idles like crap check engine light comes on for iacv, been replaced oem honda part new 250 dollars. Other sensors too, too many to name but the engine might as well have everything new by now. I coulda boosted for that amount of money... I am a strong believer that there is no number one fix for this... new is engine harness, yes drastic time consuming and just alot of work, and even that might not solve it. Want more ideas tho reply and ill hit u up.
