Default Good CR for Gt35r

With a big turbo like the GT35r what is a good compression ratio on pistons to go with? It is for a H22 engine with 2.4L of displacement.

I hear 8:1, 9:1, 10:1

Coming from a NA Prelude, I like higher compression ratios but know that they are not realistic for boosted cars.

Any input is appreciated.

One other thing... I will have the pistons coated. Should I have the rods shot peened (Manley)?

I want to do everything right...

its all in what you want to do with the car. if youre streeting it, go with a more reasonable CR like 9:1 or so, but if you want to race it, i say a little higher, with a good tune and some race gas would do the trick, this topic has been covered many times, do your research and talk to as many people with experience as possible

If you are running 400++ whp and pump gas, you'll probably want 9:1. (probably 14-16 psi) With 10:1 @ the same power levels/psi, you would probably need some race gas for a margin of safety.
I use 10:1 Arias pistons and run '120' race gas all the time. (actually 113 octane) I'm @ around 450whp and am bumping it to around 500 @20 psi or so.

You shouldn't need to shot peen good aftermarket rods. You might magnaflux them to check for stress points and /or cryogenically treat them if you want extra protection.

i thought manley rods came shot peened out the factory?
i would go with 9:1.

i wouldnt worry about the manley rods, they will handle as much power as you can throw at them.manley

a 35r is not going to act like a "big" turbo on that motor! that things going to spool at like any given rpm!
