On my wifes 00 gsr the trunk latch stopped working. when you slide the latch to unlock it, you hear the motor whine but the latch wont unlock. Has anyone had this problem before? i cant get into the trunk to look because of a rear strut bar.

Funny, my 00 GSR is doing the exact same thing. If you rotate the key past the unlock position, it will manually pop the hatch, you just need 2 hands to lift the hatch while you keep the key rotated.

Previously, I've only had that problem when I stuffed too much into the trunk, and the hatch had enough pressure to prevent the wimpy electric motor from opening it.

 

common problem... my '00 gsr has the same problem. the trunk actuator is bad, just use the key and turn it all the way to the right, should pop the hood like tunern00b said

 

Same problem with my 00 gsr. I have to lean my weight down on the trunk as i turn the key to the right and it will pop open.

 

A trick I use is I don't turn the latch all the way to the left, I slide it until I hear the motor unlatch the hatch. If you do all the way, it gets all stuck and I can't close it anymore.

replace the actuator if you wanna fix it.. mine doesnt do it all the time, but it gets to be a pain in the butt.. just use the key

 

Yeah its a problem with happens alot with 98-01 tegs. Team integra website has an article that shows the part number u need and how to replace the actuator.Its quite simple to replace.
