Default Check engine light

I just bought a 02 rsx s and every time i get gas, a day or two later the engine light comes on. and after that i will reset the ecu and it will stay off untill i get gas. I also make sure my gas cap is on all the way. should i be worried?

Best advice I can give. Go to your AytoZone, Oreilly's or Advance and have them read that code. Your clue as to what the problem is is in that code. That way, you will know where to start troubleshooting.

see what code its throwing and let us know so we can give you more input.

Ok I just got back from Autozone and heres what it said.

Code P0172 System too rich (Bank 1)

Any Idea's?

That is a misfire code. Which is what is causing it to run rich. Check your ignition system. Plugs and such. As well as timing. That could also allow it to run a tad rich if the timing is off a tad.

Could be a couple other things too, but I'm still researching.
